Privacy
We keep as little as we need to do good work, and we don’t sell it on. Here’s the plain version.

Who we are
Fettle London is run by Ilia Koniukhovskii, trading as Fettle London. We’re responsible for the personal information described here (the “controller”, in data protection terms). You can reach us at fettlelondon@gmail.com or on 07361 854124.
What we collect
- When you get in touch: your name, email, postcode, the topic and your message.
- When you use the chat: what you type, and your name and phone number if you ask for a call back. Chats are kept so the team can pick up the conversation.
- When you check a postcode: the area part of your postcode (for example “SW10”), so we can tell you whether we cover it.
- When we visit: notes on what needs doing at your home, so we can price and plan the work.
- When you browse: anonymous visit counts (which pages are viewed, roughly where from). No cookies, and nothing that identifies you.
Why we hold it, and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit and quote the work – steps you’ve asked us to take before a contract.
- To carry out the work and keep a record of jobs at your home – performing our contract with you.
- To keep invoices and records for tax and insurance – a legal obligation.
- To understand which pages of the site help people – our legitimate interest, using anonymous figures only.
Who helps us run things
We use a small number of trusted services to run the website and handle enquiries. They process data only on our instructions:
- Vercel – hosts this website and provides our cookie-free visitor statistics.
- Supabase – stores enquiries sent through the contact form and website chats (servers in Ireland, EU).
- Telegram – delivers a notification of each new enquiry, and chats you ask to pass to a person, to our phone so we can reply quickly.
- Anthropic – provides the AI that answers questions in the website chat. Your chat messages are sent to it to generate a reply; they are not used to train its models.
- Postcodes.io – checks that a postcode you enter is real. Only the postcode is sent.
- Google (Gmail) and WhatsApp – if you email or message us, those conversations are held by those services.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. Only when a job needs an outside specialist do we share the details they need for that job. We never sell your details or pass them to marketplaces or advertisers.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and chats that don’t lead to work are deleted within 12 months. If we do work for you, we keep your details for as long as you’re on our list, plus six years for tax and insurance records. Ask us to delete what isn’t needed and we will.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or ask us to stop using it. Write to fettlelondon@gmail.com and a person – not a bot – will reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.
